Since 2003, Radiant has fabricated its integrated ferroelectric capacitors using a clean room in the CTS Wireless facility at Alameda and Jefferson in northeast Albuquerque. To begin manufacturing the Type AL PNZT capacitors having long term reliability as well as our future piezoelectric MEMs product line and ferroelectric-gate transistors, we moved from the CTS facility to a new location in the University of New Mexico Science & Technology Park. Our new facility, 50% larger than the clean space at CTS, will be located next to the UNM Manufacturing Technology Training Center ( http://www-mep.unm.edu/mttc_cleanroom.php), a first class university clean room run by Dr. John Wood, Director of Manufacturing Engineering in UNM's Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Our integrated ferroelectric devices do not require the same level of cleanliness as CMOS IC manufacturing, allowing us to greatly reduce the cost of our facilities. Consquently, we are not setting up a clean room but instead we are establishing "clean space" within which to run our processes. The move is nearly complete and we merely lack DI water and chilled water connections. They will be complete before the end of January, 2012.
